After the announcement yesterday that on 2nd December North Somerset will be entering Tier 3 restrictions, the trustees have made the decision that the Community Centre will remain closed until January.
This means that staff will remain furloughed for the whole of December and that the halls will not be available for hire except for essential services like NHS blood donations and support groups.
It was an extremely difficult decision for the trustees to make because we know how vital our user groups are to the community.
However, we had to look at whether it would be financially viable for us to stay open in tier 2 and 3 whilst balancing many elements such as wages, overheads, and community health.
We are hopeful that we will be able to reopen on the 4th January, but it will depend on what tier North Somerset is in at that time and how the restrictions will affect the Community Centre as a whole.
We have worked very hard to keep our doors open to our user groups, and we want to thank all our staff for going above and beyond their usual duties in helping us stay COVID Secure.
We look forward to the New Year and hope we can reopen to a better and safer future for us all.
Please note that the community cafe will remain open for takeaway and we ask that you all continue to support Alan and has famous frittatas.
