Fit Steps with  DanceXcellence

Strictly come dancing stars Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite have teamed up with six time champion world swimmer Mark Foster, a former strictly contestant and an expert in fitness and conditioning to produce a unique dance and fitness programme   ‘Fit Steps’.  They have combined for the first time, the best known and popular Latin and Ballroom dances with proven fitness techniques to develop a dance/fitness programme that is capable of delivering fast fitness results, with a heap of fun thrown in.  With Lisa in Keeds Hall, Tuesdays 9.45am.  Kids Kung Fu

Learning Kung Fu is an excellent way for children to develop self-confidence, discipline and respect for others. It also improves fitness, coordination and mental focus. Classes are specifically geared to children and run in a safe environment by a fully qualified martial arts instructor and primary school teacher. Typical sessions include warm ups, Kung Fu drills, games and forms.

Friday afternoons at 4.45-6.00pm in Keeds Hall.

The Badminton Club plays in Keeds Hall every Thursday evening between 7.30 and 10pm.  The season runs from the first Thursday in October to the last Thursday in March.

Long Ashton Football Club

The Long Ashton Football Club runs 3 teams. The First Team play in the Somerset County League, with the Reserve & ‘A’ Teams playing in the Bristol and Suburban Association Football League. The club is always looking for new players, aged 16+. There is also an associated Social Club on Saturdays in the Griffin Lounge. Training takes place at 18.30 on Thursday evenings on the 3G pitch at Bristol Grammar School. We meet in the car park at Old Bristolians, Longwood Lane and walk a short distance to the pitch. There is a cost of £1 per player, payable before training, to cover the hire charge.

There is also a veteran’s team (aged 35+) operating under the name LA Codgers, who compete in the Bristol Casuals League. Games take place on Sunday mornings, with kick-off times varyimng from 10.30 – 11.00 am. There are 89 games a season.
